a brief history of

HASHBURY

The first headshop opened in 1966 in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, California. It was here where the center of the hippie movement formed, where the Summer of Love went down, where the Grateful Dead got their start, and where the acid tests pushed new boundaries.

In 2015 we opened the first Hashbury store in Springfield, Massachusetts. Today we strive to test boundaries and experiment with our style as we search for our meaning and identity alongside the rest of the world.
